If you wanted you could run the wires out under the driver's seat. There is a plug where wires go out. It will take a little more wire and you will nave to dress it up some but there is more than one way to get the wire out.
Those Thunderbolt turn signal mirrors are great! glad ya got er done here is my beginner video of my Thunderbolts http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8TF4n9LrtgQ
Looks good. There are plenty of How-To’s but I was wondering, did you follow a How-To and did everything come apart easily ? Did you run into any problems ? Thanks, I have to do this !
The worst and hardest part is getting the new Thunderbolt mirror out of the factory frame and then getting the new mirror in the stock frame after cutting the hole out for the LED's....Handling the new mirror makes your butt pucker because it takes a bit of force to get it out first off then getting it in...When putting the new mirror in the old frame a heat gun is a must, the edge must be soft and flexible to get the TB mirror in...We ended up tapping the turn signal wires by the parking brake...Be very carefull cutting the glue on the new mirrors because you can easily cut the led connection wire if not careful...We used a Dremel tool fine die grinder to cut the holes for the led cluster to fit in to the old frame..It took 2 of us about 6 hours to complete the job...Feel free to pm me if you need advice...Set your mind and hands to go very slow and careful and have lots of sharp blades on hand and don't cut yourself...Worst case scenario is having to buy another set of mirrors...Best of luck Bob C.
Thanks for the advice ! I will be doing this when things warm up some around here. Right now we are in the middle of a snow storm. ltr
This is the guide I went with but some important parts were left out... http://www.fordrangerforum.com/how-...d-thunderbolt-turn-signal-mirror-install.html
When I installed mine the Thunderbolts came with an instruction sheet even. , take your time like Bob said it should be no problem
