I have a 2011 ranger with a 4.0 litre V6 SOHC. I recently took the valve cover off and something was missing. I have watched other videos and seen that some 4.0's have an oil tube ( F77Z-6578-AD ) that runs along the top of the camshaft bearing caps. It takes oil from one of the bolts on the first bearing cap (adjacent to the timing gear) on each head and dribbles the oil on the cam lobes. And another video for the same motor but in an the explorer had no oil tube . A parts search at the dealer shows it came with a tube ( but is no longer available from Ford ). I am the second owner, and have put 60,000 of the 250,000 kms on it. I don't think the motor was ever opened up and therefore I don't think someone forgot to reinstall it. Any thoughts ? Should it have a tube or not ? Thanks
