seat belt chime gose on and off by itself HELP

hello to all i am new to this forum..
just brought a 2002 ford ranger, and the seat belt chime is driving me crazy:furious:..
with or without the seat belt being on..it just beeps in intervals of 5... 5 beeps 5 times then stops, and then starts up again... any ideas....or do i have to bite the bullet and take in to Ford..

Test the wires with a meter to see where you have an intermittent break.
