I would like to replace the driver's door cylinder. I believe that little tab showing outside the door can be pulled out to release the cylinder. Can I pull it out enough to reach in with needle nose pliers or something and disconnect the rod from the back of it, or do I have to get inside the door to do that?

My best guess is you are best to get inside the door to pull and replace the cylinder.

Take off the door panel, its easy, only like 4 screws. Not too hard
