Last night my boyfriend and I had our trucks broken into. It looks like they hammered a large flathead screwdriver into my driver's side door lock (2011, manual locks) and did the same to both doors on my boyfriend's (2005, power locks) Ranger.

I saw the write-up here on how to replace the ignition cylinder and both door locks, and I know we'll probably have to do that to the 2005, but can I get away with only replacing the damaged door lock on my 2011? I'm not opposed to carrying an extra key.

Are there any other considerations we'd need to make in replacing the ignition cylinder on the 2005? Like going to the dealer to get the key matched up to the VIN? I know that the 2011 has a transponder chip in the key, but I can't find an answer as to whether that actually matters for a manual lock (logic says it doesn't lol).
