2004 edge 4.0 shuts down due to pats but ford doesnt know why they said it might be the battery or the junction box and its 1000 bucks to fix. can anyone help?
 
in most cases it is a power problem from my past experience. make sure your battery is fully charged.
Ford generally charges 100 bucks to run diagnostics, I would have that done. over the phone they will not really tell you anything.
 
Most likely the batteries go way before that junction box ever will. Go buy a new battery and try it out, I am sure thats the problem
