I have a ranger 2001 two wheel drive, the interior light stays ON do you know where the door switches are located and how I can troubleshooting, I think one of the switches is sticky, (I don't have the diagram) if I tray to put a new light bulb it shorted out right away please if somebody can help me with this

I had the same problem before. It's on the side of the door when you open it. I just sprayed it with a some wd40 and it started working again. Hope this helps!

Spray the latch on the door with a silicone based lubricant.
WD40 works and others too but the silicone based lube attracts less dirt and last a little longer but use what you have to get the light off is the best approach and gets it done.

If is is shorting out and blowing fuses check for a smashed wire either in the dome light area or the switch location. but if the bulb just stays on and then the wd-40 should fix that problem as the guys mentioned above.

Sorry didn’t see the “shorted out” statement.

What do you mean by that statement, does the bulb blow out, does the fuse blow out, or does the bulb just come on and stay on like the switch is shorted out ?

I think it shorted out because the powder stay ON because the door switch is stuck, maybe I should put the light bulb in the socket when the power is off.

From that statement it would seem that the switch is stuck and the power is going to the light, when a new bulb is pushed in, it comes on so fast that the filament blows, may not be a short.

Start with the spray on the latch and go from there.
