HIDs trouble shoot

I just installed HIDs on my 09 ranger 4.0.
The connections were crossed so my HIDs would only turn on when i put my high beams on. So i crossed the connection It works but now my day time running lights are the HIDs. Any thoughts on correcting this problem ?

Try connecting the supply wire directly to battery instead of headlight supply, you will have to get a switch if you don't have one already, but the lights will operate independently
