I have a 94, 3.0, v6 ford ranger xt cab,130k mls for about 3yrs now. The chck eng light came on and for about 4 / 6 mths now it stumbles a little bit when im sitting idle and at times after i turn it off, it takes a while to start back up, sounds like its out of gas or I'll have to sit there for a minute or so and it starts rite back up. What could be causing those things??? Help me out fordfamily..

I had my check engine light coming on and after many attempts to track it down, I finally took it to a former Ford dealership where they read the codes. I replaced the fuel filter and the DPFE. Both of these are relatively easy and cheap to replace. The 1994 4-cylinder now runs like a champ. BTW, I tried to get the local O'Reilly's to read the codes, but on this old a vehicle, they were not equipped to do it.
