good blend door actuator not working

2005 ranger edge 3L, blend door stopped working, door is good, new or old actuator will not work,, hvac heat switch replaced (center knob), checked all connectors,they look good, does seem like DC power is at actuator, heat/ac works great, using a actuator part I have rigged a rod to get either heat or ac (but nothing inbetween) wondering if the ac/vent position switch is tied in the system.(right side knob).trired of battling this,,
 
wired up 3 new wires from the blend door actuator to the hot/cold switch,, must have been a bad wire somewhere because it's now working.. keeping the rod lever set-up in the truck ...
