Hello, all you brother truckers. I'm new here and believe it or not I'm 61 and just got my first truck. So I'm not familiar with all the normal truck noises and the not normal.
RangerForum won't let me make a signature till I have a couple posts and days in here.
I took a chance at an auction and got a 2000 Ranger Supercab 3 mo ago. So far I'm diggin' it. No big issues to date, just a few small things you'd expect in a used car. My question of the day is regarding the peeling paint, which I've heard is common in the 2000. Also heard it's hard to resolve, i.e., new paint won't stick. Any truth to that? I'm not a car mechanic, but I can turn a wrench. I won't be doing any painting, tho'. Luckily, I'm in AZ so rust isn't a big concern, but I want to know what's up before I talk to a paint shop.
Oh, I'm also un-familiar with all the acronyms & abbrev used here so give it to me straight for now.
Thanks and I promise my future posts will not be this long.

Oh yes we can

First thing is to clean what ever it is you are painting .Then you have to remove the serface of any old paint .If paint has peeled then you have to create a surface that the paint will stick to .as etching with sandpaper or solvents . Then appy an under coating . Paint color coat , and top or shine coat .
