From the 60's to the 90's Ford made a 4-speed OD manual transmission that they put in the full sized trucks, vans and 4x's.
The original one used a cast iron case, but at some point during the 80's they changed it to an aluminum case.
Gear ratios changed slightly when that happened.
I always remember it as the Ford "Town & Country" tranny, but I recently tried to look it up and found....nothing!
Did I just imagine this?
Ford made a 4-speed overdrive, right?
Didn't they call it "Town & Country" (or at least, wasn't that a popular name for it?).
What was the official designation?
…..confused.
Any help would be appreciated.
