I've got a 2009 XLT with body issues. Two body ripples, and one badly repaired paint chip, likely done at the dealership. I'll be handling those shortly.

The worst is an ill-fitted tailgate. I took delivery about a month ago, but never noticed that the support cable on the left has too much slack. I took it to the dealership today, but they made matters worse. Instead of moving the left hinge outward, they made a mess of both hinges, exposed bare metal, and didn't even bother to touch up the area. Worse yet, the cable is still loose. They attempted to hide this fact by bending the cable eyes at both ends to take up some of the slack.

I told them it's no better, so they've made an appointment with their body shop next week.

Right now I'm pretty upset at the dealership and their mishandling of this problem. Any and all comments or suggestions as to how I should handle this if the body shop isn't successful, would be appreciated.
