engine failure

while driving to work this morning my the engine quit. I managed to get it started and limp to the dealer where they determined nothing was wrong with the truck by using their diagnostic equipment. However, when I started the truck it stalled several times before idling properly. temp outside was -6c when it stopped running. Any suggestions?

the coolant was checked by the dealer and it is satisfactory. The engine is a 4.0L with just over 100,000 km. They ran the diagnostics and couldn't find anything. I asked the dealer to change the plugs and wires but they were reluctant. For this I paid $120.

Damm dude...... Run some dry gas through it , might have water in the fule lines and while your at it change the fule filter ! That thing is spouse to be changed every 3000 miles and on a truck with 100k that may be the problem

So you think it is a fuel supply issue and not the computer? Where is the fuel filter located? Nice truck. I bought it because I was told Rangers are one of the most dependable trucks on the road.

So far I topped up the gas tank and added a bottle of gasline antifreeze. I will get my mechanic to replace the fuel filter this weekend. What amazes me is that the dealer couldn't find the problem. And for this they charged me $120?! I had to go online to find the solution.

Car buying tips

Have you check your fuel there might be the water get mixed in your fuel by mistakenly or during the washing the truck try by changing the fuel.
