When I'm driving I can shift ok. If I stop and shift into neutral and let up the clutch and then put the clutch in, I have a lot of trouble getting into 1st or any gear. Eventually i usually can get into 1st but sometimes I have to shut off the engine then shift into 1st, start the engine and away I go.

What does letting the clutch out have to do with the problem.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
