been a bitter/sweet week

well this actually started about 6 weeks ago when I decided to make a trip up to seattle Washington to purchase this

here is the rundown on her:
2013 dodge dart RALLYE citrus peel pearlcoat (one year only color)
2.0L tigershark 6 speed auto
8.4" touchscreen U connect
Parkview backup camera
17X7 hyper black aluminum wheels
factory dual exhaust


but back to the story, on Tuesday I said goodbye to an old friend, my 2006 ford ranger... everyone remembers her like

she was a good ol truck, got great MPG's, and never left me stranded, but it was time to move on to something that would be more family friendly, and move up the MPG ladder



and on Friday evening I said goodbye to another friend, my 1994 corvette roadster, she had a lot of style, and a color that would blind you if you looked it in the sun too long

i'm not leaving the forums, I will still be hanging around here to help out as much as I can, and who knows there mat be another ranger in my future... everything has been up in the air, especially with the move to Nevada, hopefully within the next few months I should be relocated

any specific reason to go with the dodge rather than a ford focus? or fiesta?

as for going with a dodge, I am in love with the color, options, and MPG's... as for not going with a focus, or fiesta... the fiesta is too damn small for what I need it for, and just don't like the looks of the focus... and from what I have seen out there, as for options, and innovations out in the auto market... pound for pound dodge was the better deal...I realize the fiesta starts at 14K, and the focus starts out at almost 17K... for me I like to have some options, and for me, I would have loved a fiesta ST, and the base on those are 21K, and with the options I wanted on it I would have been into a fiesta for almost 30K... for a fiesta, and the focus... once again I would have wanted the ST, and that's starts at 24K...and with options I would have been into it for almost 35K for a focus.... and a fusion... forget about it... the dealer had the rallye up to 28K, and with rebates, and discounts, and after hours of hem hawing back and forth I had them down to $16,221 for a fully loaded dart rallye the only options it doesn't have is the 1.4L turbo, and a moon roof... its ok, I don't need that ****, it leaks after a while... I am in love with the color, its one of those either you like it, or you hate it, personally I don't care if you like it or not, your not making my car payments for me... one of the guys I work with that just bought a new fusion, and he tried talking trash on how ugly my car is, I told him atleast i'm not rollin on plastic hubcaps....lulz

Well said, if you're the one making the payments, who the hell can tell you what to do with your money. You got the deal and vehicle you were comfortable and happy with.

It's just funny because you got everything you wanted in your vehicle and it sounds like the other guy had to compromise to get a "better car". And when you work at a marketing firm and you start laughing loudly in your office, you get at least 3-5 people coming in wondering whats funny/wrong lol. I got some weird looks.

But when dealing in buying a new/used car, never settle, there is always a better deal to be had. Best words of wisdom I ever received from a good buddy of mine who is actually a car salesman (now manager). Then again, he could have been talking about his end instead of the consumer haha.

Also sad to see the Vette go, I've never been a huge fan of the Bowtie, but I do love the Vette. I worked at a Chevy dealer a few years ago and we were the only dealership within 250 miles that had a ZR1 available. IT WAS ***Y AS HELL!!! We also had 2 Z06's in the showroom. One in the burgundy torchfire red and one in screamin' yellow lol. The ZR1 was the bluesky metallic blue (almost blueish gray).
