Auto to manual hub swap...vacuum lines?

Hey all, I am new here and have a question. My vacuum lines are bad and have caused damage to my plastic hub. I thought my bearings were going out from the sounds, but it was the hub trying to engage and disengage on the drivers side.

I have decided to replace the pvh with the avm manuals. So, I will still have the cracked vacuum lines pulling air. Do I just leave them alone, tape them up, replace them? I don't know if I want air or whatever constantly being sucked through the leaking lines, but I bet you guys do know. Ay advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

If it was me, I would trace the lines back to where they started, has to be some sort of manifold, not sure what is there but attempt to plug them at that point.
Don’t leave them hanging with ty-wraps around them or a plug in the hose, future problem waiting to happen.
While you are doing the project, finish it up the right way and be don’t with it.

I wish I could have do that to my ’03, I think I would have gotten better milage.

Thanks! That is just what I needed to hear. I think the soft lines connect to hard ones after so far. If I can't do something there then I will go all the way. No sense to plug them just to have more cracks form between the plug and the hard line, I agree. Good deal.

Now, I have another question. I plan to do the avm swap, but if I did the "rip the air screen out and use your finger" mod, why put that piece back on? I mean the one we turn to the left to take off that actually holds the screen. Could we just leave it off or does it have a bigger purpose? Thanks.

I wish I could answer your question but I can’t, unable to because I have never performed the hub swap.

Maybe by us talking about it someone will come in.

Sorry.
