When I first accelerate I can hear this strange ticking sound. Usually happens between 3000 & 4000 rpms. Combining me, my fiance, & the other Ranger forum we are both on we've concluded that it's coming from the exhaust. I've checked everything to see if anything was loose, but nothing was.

Just curious to see if anybody else has had this problem & what it is.

My exhaust makes noise and it comes from the catalytic converters. Try hitting it and you may find your sound.

I've got the 4.0L V6. Good idea about the catalytic converters though!
