97 Ranger 2.3L Timing Belt

well if you havent figured it out yet .. you can try puttin a breaker bar on the nut then restin the breaker bar on the frame and bumpin the motor over a couple times to break it loose .. its not a reverse thread .. its just on there real good

I had to use a breaker bar on mine to get it loose. now i have everything back together and marks lined up right, now it won't start. HELP!!! please. it will crank but wont start? 2.3L 4 cyl. 96..

i got a 94 ranger that i wrecked im in the process of putting it back together my last step before all of this is my timing i only know how to set timing on chevys but my belt apparently looks about 4 to 6 teeth off where do i have to set the gears for the notches to line up

im stuck doing all of this by myself my dad wont help and by the way the motor is a 2.3efi 5speed any hints tips and suggestions would be grateful

Put a breaker bar on the nut and rest it on the frame. when the motor is cranked it turns clockwise so make sure your breaker bar rest under the frame and if its not long enough to put a pipe on the breaker bar. Make sure your cam gear is positioned to where the intake and exhuast valves are closed and crank the motor.
