I’ve been avoiding asking this on a forum for a while, but here it goes.

I’ve got a 1996 xl 2.3l manual with roughly 65k on it. I’m having an issue where when the truck hits 3k-3.4k on the tach it starts jerking bad. As soon as clutch goes in the jerk stops. If you accelerate past 3.4k it stops. If you accelerate fast it won’t do it.

This is especially annoying when you’re going down the road between 75-79mph which is right in the tachs sweet spot. So every time you drive down the interstate (2x a day) it’s non stop jerking unless you drive slow for traffic or speed.

Anyone have any ideas? The check engine never comes on and pretty much EVERYTHING has been replaced on the engine except for the head and block. (It’s an over exaggeration to stress I’ve replaced everything.)

I want to believe it’s the cam sensor, but I’ve put 6 of them on there in the last 5 years trying to hunt the problem down.
