1988 Wipers Don't work Please help!!

Hi everyone please help if you can! I have a 1988 STX 2.9L ford ranger. My wipers stopped working and i can't fix it. I have replaced the motor, switch, fuse, relay, and the blades all new and they still don't work. When i turn the switch on it makes a ticking sound but does nothing!!! I really need them because i work at a ski resort please help!

this is gonna sound goofy but is the transmission for the wipers good or has it blew.

lol temp fix but tie a string to the wipers n through drivers n passengers window n pull em back n fourth as needed. lol sounds funny but i had to do it in a pinch n i did it cause i saw it in an episode of mister bean when i was like 12 n it worked till i could fix it
