yeah my ranger does the exact same thing when i jump start it and i also have been locked out as a result. now i remember that and i just keep the door open while i jump it. and yes, they are too easy to break into.
if you buy 98-2000.5 hub assembly's and CV axles you can then convert to manual hubs because rugged ridge (formerly AVM) makes a manual hub conversion for the 98-2000.5 PVH hub setup but that set up is notoriously weak, youre better off staying with the live axle setup.
