@henryford: Agreed. I just don't understand producing and selling a 4x4 truck without a limited slip differential. I can get around on snow and ice just as good with my 4x2 as my son can with his 4x4. So then, what good is 4x4?

That color-changing thing is why I never liked the spray-in bed liners. Didn't know they offered the UV option. Apparently, most people don't pay the extra for that option. Glad you did... your truck deserves the extra quality! :)

Sounds like the multi-function switch (the turn signal stalk). Easy replacement... remove the column shroud (three screws), then two screws and one connector to remove the switch.

$140 sounds about right for the repair at a dealer. And 220K is still pretty impressive mileage.

Assuming that 10w30 is the proper viscosity oil for that year/engine, then yes... that would be a good choice.

About the only thing you haven't replaced is the O2 sensor or the CAT. You said the compression was "very close" to the other cylinders, so I wouldn't think a valve spring is at fault.

Did you replace the resistor AND connector, or just the connector? The problem you describe is almost always the resistor. The melted connector is a byproduct of the resistor going out.

I'm not into the big tire thing, but with a 4 inch lift, I see no reason that the 33's wouldn't fit. Lots of guys on other forums run 33's and I don't think they all have that much lift. Your best bet would be to talk to a tire shop about it. I'm sure they have run into that before.
