    1997 Ranger Spare Tire

Hello Tyler and welcome to the forum! I've never heard of the type you describe on a Ranger. Is it possible a previous owner retro-fitted the bar type?

    motor size?

It is the eighth character in the VIN. "V" indicates a 3.0L V6 VULCAN engine. I think "E" is a 4.0L, but not 100% sure of that.

    XLT door handles

Yes, extended cab 2-door. Actually, that is the most common (at least around here).

    XLT door handles

Hello Leslie and welcome to the forum! Well, I have no personal experience with the 4-door model Ranger, but I would start with good lubrication of the door latch mechanism of ALL 4 doors. This will require removing the door panel and spraying/smearing a suitable lubricant on all moving parts...

    Throttle position sensor

Well, that certainly will cause a misfire. Glad you found the problem! :)

    Clutch switch

I believe you are correct on the pins 3&4. I remember something about that when I was researching to add speed control to my truck. Mine is an automatic, so it didn't apply but I remember seeing that in the diagrams.

    Troubles with automatic transmission

I've seen the blacked heads and tails on the blue Rangers. Looks good!

    Troubles with automatic transmission

Just ran across this and read your posts. Sorry about your tranny, man. I'm sure the shop will get it sorted for you and you'll be back on the road soon. I don't have any personal experience with Spyder headlights, but reviews are pretty good for fitment and quality, so as long as your wallet...

    2009 rusted bed mounts

Hello Rick and welcome to the forum. Not sure what to say about the rust. For whatever reason, Ford chose to NOT paint a lot of exposed metal under the Ranger. If it wasn't seen, it wasn't painted. Best you can do is fabricate some new bed mounts, clean everything up best you can and give it...

Stalls when Vacuum plugs into EGR

Have a look at your evap solenoid. My sons 1999 XLT was slurping fuel at a phenomenal rate until he unhooked the evap solenoid. His MPG improved drastically. So, he got a used one at the local Pull-A-Part for five bucks and all is good now. Try pulling the vacuum line on the evap solenoid...

    Automatic shift adjustment

Hello Leslie and welcome to the forum! The shift indicator has an adjustment behind the panels below the steering wheel. If the truck just "clicks" when the key is turned, you have another problem. Typically, when you get the click, either the battery is low or the starter is bad.

Windscreen wiper and electric windows problem solved

Hello Villy and welcome to the forum! Glad to hear you got your problem sorted! Swapping the relays could be either made good a failing connection, or one of the relays is bad. If one of the relays are bad, then the function that you switched the bad relay in will be a problem. Just saying...

ford ranger 2011 4.0l power window

Best I can tell, the suffix characters determine available options on the truck, such as power windows/locks group or DRL. To be safe, get the exact body control module that you are taking out.

ford ranger 2011 4.0l power window

If the water came that far up into the cab, the differential(s) will most likely be full of water, so if you haven't checked those, PLEASE do so. I wouldn't remove the SJB unless absolutely necessary. You COULD take a picture of it and then remove all fuses and relays to give it a proper...

ford ranger 2011 4.0l power window

You mean the entire truck was in a flood? If that is the case, you need to check the fluids in everything.

    Looking for Ideas for Upgrades

Hello Chase and welcome to the forum! I'm not an off-road kind of guy, but looking at the picture, anything "beefier" is going to be an F150? LOL Skid plates / winch or front hitch / bull bar?

ford ranger 2011 4.0l power window

Don't know of a video, but I think I would just blow the fuse box out with an air hose. Once dry, I would spray some CRC contact cleaner all over it pretty good and see if that fixes your problem. Also, might want to find out WHY the box was flooded. Water had to come from somewhere.

    1997 xlt 4×2 dash lights

Ah, okay. I would take the one working bulb and move it to a different location and see if the "good" light follows. If not, most likely the circuit board on the back of the cluster is bad. Another possibility is the sockets aren't making contact. You can bend the little contacts out a bit if...
