Its really not a bad swap, and to be honest its tough to mess up as far as stuff bolts in. The wiring is a hair worse for you being an 03. But the manual trans/transfer case will hurt that a bit. Unless you run a custom tune your computer will be in limp mode cause it doesnt sense a transmission...

Just to update this. Dont ever do this with a junk yard motor. To be honest id buy a whole explorer. Drive the damn thing for 6 months so everything that would break could break. Fix it in its natural platform. Then when life is all good swap it over. Cause I have to have 3 different vehicles...
