    unsure:unsure:

Hello and good day to all:

We have a very good friend that is having some issues with his 1990 Ford Ranger.

First He needs a Owners Manual, and I can't seem to find a site to get a Free down load . So if anyone may know of a Link, or the means to get one it would be most grateful.

Second He states that he is having some Transmission issues. He will shift into 1st, and 2nd and gets nothing...but can shift into 3rd and 4th, and it will move slowly till it gets up speed.

His Fuel Gage does not work....nor...his Speedometer.

I am a Ford Escort, and Taurus man, and have know expertise in the Ranger line.

Any help will be most greatful...Thank you in advance.

 Engine v6-245 (4.0L, VIN X) Sorry I thought I stated it was a Manual Transmission.....Mileage he states is 86,000....he lives in the Virgin Island, on St. Croix...so he only put little mileage on it.

The Problem is that the Folks down where he lives are crooks, and will cheat you in a heart beat..

So I hope this will help...and any info will.

ya take a hammer and tap the bottom and the side of the tank a couple times while truck is off.. turn the truck on if the gauge moves its fixed if not leave truck on tap a couple more times and check it again if it osts your good if not then that requires you to either pull the box and then pull the asending unit out and un seeze the float or just replace it up to you ... you can also drop the tank too .. pulling th box is the easiest i think

Great thank you....I thought that may be the problem...the Floater being stuck, or the connector corroded....I will past that information along to him...

    Any Ideas about that Transmission???unsure:

    Ford Manual

I called Ford Company to research my 1990 truck. They will send information back to me free of charge. Also, they carry manuals too.

Also, I signed up at Ford's Web site to remind me of maintance. On that site, it has a section about your model truck.
