I just have a question on the jumper for the resistor on the back. The resistor mounted on the labeled “Oil” lands has a 190 ohm resistor which measures 134.8 ohms. It is a 1% resistor and that is no way in tolerance. If I jumper, take it out of the circuit will my gauge work correctly with the appropriate sender? My truck is a 1997, 2.3L. I haven’t found the switch on the back of the motor, on the passenger side as there doesn’t seem to be anything located there. Where do I install the PS60 sending unit on the 2.3L engine?

I have been trying to resolve this issues and now realize why all the information for my 1997 doesn’t apply to what I have. The picture of the oil gauge resistor that I posted is for a 1998-2000 cluster, which is what is installed on my 1997 truck. Does anyone know if the upgrade works for this cluster?

As a new member I apologize if I have done something wrong or not followed the appropriate rules. I am still trying to find an answer to this issue. I am going to put a dedicated manual oil pressure gauge in so I can monitor the pressure, but it would be nice to upgrade the dash cluster gauge to reflect oil pressure. I already have the correct sending unit, but don’t know if it will work if I jumper the 190 ohm resistor shown in the above picture.
