i have tried almost everything to get my gas mileage back up to the 20's range. i've tried sea foam and all the other things for the gas tank and ect. im running out of ideas. any help?

fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs an wires would be a start. you should make a signature man, what engine/trans?

well... it's a truck. there's only so much you can do. your driving style has the largest effect on mileage. since you've tried everything else, keep a light foot and don't rev the engine too high.

Agreed, also a good investment would be a tuner. It wont change dramatically but it allows your engine to run at spec and then some. Lookup Vendor Franchi Motorsports here, he deals them and can give you every detail about them

i just also had changed the cap and rotor along with the napa pulgs and wires and i am running synthetic oil in it as well. how much do tuners normally run for a ranger? i'm new to this forum stuff

Well sometimes with age, all engines will never get great MPG's. Tuner run a few hundred dollars, Franchi sells new and used ones se he may have them cheaper. Fuel filter replacements help along with air filter, clean throttle body and IAC. Welcome to the Forum by the way!

Not about the forum when it comes to has mileage. You don't need a tuner to get you 20mpg. Actually a tuner is a waste of money IMO you bought a truck your not going to get 40mpg. Deal with what you got and keep the truck healthy and clean and you won't have problems. I get about 18mpg with 31"tires and I drive balls to the wall and do a lot of dumb ****. I deal with it because I like my truck. Welcome to the forum

I just replaced the plugs, wires, air filter, PCV, cleaned the MAF and throttle body. I was hitting 220 per tank, and right now I am at 220 with almost a quarter tank left. So something really helped. Plus it idles purty darn smoothe now.

Has anyone changed the intake tube out from filter to throttle body? Less restrictions and smoot air flow is my thought. I plan to put K/N air filter in my ranger. Lots to do to it.
