Live in Louisiana. Big time deer & turkey hunter, old school style. Mostly archery gear.
I have a 2005 Edge 4x4 Supercab. Bought it new right before Katrina hit the coast.
It has 148,600 miles on it right now.
4.0 Cologne engine, 5455E , Dana 35 in front, Borg Warner transfer case, 8.8 LS rear diff. Never had any problems so far, except general things like both front hub assemblies, few brake jobs, and this summer i went into the 8.8 rear and changed axles, bearings, seals, spyder gear crosspin, and crosspin bolt. Also brake shoes & drums.
I rarely use the 4x4. The truck is Cardinal Red. I upgraded this summer to new headlight assem., and Led bulbs, because i hit a deer with the old yellow faded lights. I had to get a new grille too. Got the chrome one. The paint is like new. No one believes it is an 05. I always wash off bugs daily, plenty water, and correct rags. 13 years of Mcguier’s waxes.

But, with all them timing chains, i am looking at letting it go. Its been good, but it could be closer to a major breakdown. I am eyeing another Ranger. I worry about the life span of that new turbocharger.
