Just wanted to double check first...
    Have 2- 98 rangers 3.0 4x4 auto.
we are stripping 1 down as a donor, would like to drop & swap trans & transfer case . does it make a difference if the rears are not the same gear ratio?
If it does can we also just swap rear to make it a complete change or will front differential also need to be done?
    Thanks

Both the front and the rear differentials will need to be the same gear ratio.

Check out what gear ratio the two truck have and if the same change away.

If not you will need to swap both diffs.

    I guess I missed something !
You asked if both differentials needed to be the same.
My response was yes they do but I am always a little more wordy than that.

If you don't want people responding or if you want specific people responding put it in the OP.

Sorry to have bothered you with an answer and wasting my time.
