    Ok guys here's the deal I've got a 2001 XLT 2x4 auto 3.0 V6 with 172k on it

the tranny was fully rebuilt in April 2012 (at that time had a late/high rpm hard shifting issue between 1 and 2 where the OD light would come on with it) has less than 22K on the rebuilt tranny

Recently I've been noticing that the shift between 1st and 2nd have been a little harder than usual (not bone jarring but noticeable (wouldn't be enough to make you spill a drink)) and the shift point will be anywhere between 2700 and 3200 rpm on a normal takeoff

That being said it does not always do this, there are times when it shifts just as smoothly as it would between any other gears

I have checked the tranny fluid and it is full and clean. Has a slight odor if you sniff up close but I wouldn't call it "burnt"

Any help y'all can give me would be greatly appreciated, I'm terrified of having to drop another couple grand on this transmission after such a recent rebuild.

    Thank y'all, cowboy713

Sounds like it needs the fluid changed and maybe the valve body cleaned

On that note talk to who rebuilt it. They might have some insight and even better a warranty with it?
