That thing got messed up. Just wonder if it was a flaw with the machining of the crank that cause it to implode or what exactly happened.
 
One out of the how many million on the road? Sounds like bad luck more than bad quality.


I have only heard of a handful of ecoboosts blowing apart. The one was retuned into an 8 second car. The engineers figure the turbines were spinning around 300K RPM when the blade wobbled just enough to catch the housing and well... that was all she wrote.
