Hello I am new here and have a 98 3.0 ranger...it has been siting for a few months and is now being used again...Put fresh fuel in it and new fuel filter and when going up a hill its a dog ( compared to how it use to be before it sat ) wont go over 3k in 3rd gear also does not want to run untill warmed up and has a miss at idle...It is showing P0171 P0174 and P0401 I cleaned the MAF sensor but nothing now when I unplug it the idle is normal when pluged in it has a rough idle can the maf sensor cause the O2 sensors to throw a code? Im new to fords thanks guys!

i am having the same issue on my 4.0 should be the same fix. i changed my fuel filter, o2 sensors, maf, and i have found it is the fuel pump. now it can be either one of those things i had to narrow it down. i just dont have the cash for a fuel pump yet lol

How did you find out it was the fuel pump? This is not the original fuel pump but anything is possible

yup i changed everything else. what you should do first is check the fuel pressure coming from it and check it before the injectors. it also might be those but i wouldnt be sure on that. but do check the pressure.

Had battery disconnected and installed new maf sensor and no difference truck is getting worse to drive...the codes did not come back yet but could a bad 02 sensor really make the truck run this bad? Its getting to the point where you can't drive it

it possibly could. i dont know much about the 3.0 but if there is to much or not enough fuel getting to the engine it will run like crap
