    1994 Ranger 4cyl.
The ABS light came on. Fluid is up to level. Start and the light goes out for about 4 seconds and stays on. Start with the brake pedal depressed and the light will stay off until released.

    Suggestions??

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Update ... Frustrated ...
Went looking for a fault code before we started replacing parts.

Mitchell manual said the diagnostic plug was behind the right kick panel. When we didn't find it we spent considerable time looking. Turns out it is behind the on the left side NOT under the kick panel. Code 12 was produced (checked this at least 20 times to be sure we knew how to count). "Loss of fluid for 1 or more seconds." That is kind of ambiguous. OK :p I needed rear brakes anyway so we did shoes, cylinders, and fluid flush. Still a fault. Code would not clear per Mitchell instructions.

Checked the installed speed sensor with an ohm meter with that of a new one. The were very close so we left the old one in.

Perhaps there is another issue. The parking brake light does not come on at all for any reason. Didn't notice this until I came home tonight. Could this interfere with the ABS?

Will check the fuse and bulb tomorrow. Doesn't seem logical that this would trigger the ABS, but now and then Ford has their better ideas go astray. ;)
