Hi all. My name is Julian and I live in Garrett county Maryland. Yesterday 11/7/12 i bought a 96 regular cab 4x4 2.3 L five speed, it's the modle that uses two soark plugs on each cylinder. It also has the manual 4wd lever not the push button bs. I'm a member on yourcobalt.com with same username. Decided to join here because the other forum is so helpful.
    Got a few questions:
What is the biggest tire I can fit without a lift? Stock size is 135/75/15
How do I post pictures? Photo bucket, copy and paste image link is the way on yc.
Anything special I should know about changing the spark plugs since it has eight?
There is a 4.0 2wd close to me for cheap, will that motor bolt to my tranny?
Is the 1.99 mobile app worth it?
    Next, problems:
Turn signals / hazard lights dont work. Fuse is good. Headlights and brake lights work. Wiring probably bad?
ABS light is on and it pulls to the right when i brake.
    Parking brake doesn't work.

Other than that it has some body damage from when the previous owner wrecked it but I don't mind, gives it some character.

    Welcome to the site.

    1. I think you can possibly fit a 32" tire on your truck
    2. Photobucket.com, yes, copy and past IMG code in here
    3. Nothing special about the plug changes.
    4. I do not believe the 4.0 engine will fit to your trans (I'm not too savvy on this part though)
    5. I think the app is well worth it
    6. Check you flasher and check for shorts in the wiring and bulbs blown out.
    7. ABS light may be from low brake fluid, usually the in park brake will light up as well though. Check your calipers and brake pads, that may be the issue

I'm not very fond of the non functional hood scoop or the fox racing stickers.
What if i swap the 4.0 and tranny, will that bolt to the transfer case? The other motor is xoming out of a 2wd

welcome i highly doubt the 4.0 motor will bolt to your tranny and as for the transfer case bolting to the 2wd tranny it would be alot of work such as tearing the tranny apart replacing the rear output shaft and changing the rear housing to a 4wd housing. with the 4cyl engine i would say that 32's are the biggest you could go with out it being a real dog to get going. for the abs check what hooligan has recommended plus it could also be the sensor causig the light to be on. the parking brake could be that the brake shoes need to be changed or the cables havebecome stuck/broke. as far as anything special about changing the spark plugs the back 2 on the drivers side where they are under the intake can be a real PITA to change.

what rear end gears do you have? i think 32s would be doable only on atleast 4.10s. the 4wd/4cyl trucks are kinda hard to find, dont go to the dark side! lol

I have no idea what rearend gears i have, but it's really slow. I changed the oil today and cleaned the air filter(k&n). Started on the plugs( only got the first one in then had to go to work). And i didn't know the 4 cyl 4wd was rare, had a '91 before, it was the same setup, that thing was a beast in the snow too...
There is no way I can fit 32" tires without a lift, I'm thinking 29"?
any people on here in western md or west Virginia? I see hooligan is from pa, I drove up to Pittsburgh to get this.
