So my truck was in park running and it stalled out. After 5 mins it started back up and I drove about 2 miles and it shut off again and my dash stared going crazy. I can't even put my window up, I hit the button and it buzzed at me. Even with the key out of te ignition the 4ways in the dash were having a seizure. The positive terminal on the batt was drawing power with everything off?? Truck still won't start my alternator tested good at autozone but I got a new one anyway, I didn't put it on yet?? Anybody have any ideas??

I worked on it today and autozone can kiss my hiney. They said my alternator wasent bad when I was almost certain the voltage regulator was shortin out on it. I got a new one put it in and she fired right up

Well the alternator was bad but I found the reason. Bout 30mins after I got my truck running it kept stalling in idol. Turns out my fuel injector wire going into one of the cylnders is melted through which caused the alternator to short out.

that sucks i just replaced my alternator

When u put the new bumper on I needed a plate light that mounted to the plate cuz there was no factory holes. Got an led one at autozone and I think that is the reason for all this. Its throwing a fuel Pimp relay code but I think its that junk light

So I'm still having problems. Found out my alternator was not strong enough in the first place and it melted my inertia switch. Fixed that. Got the same 140 alt and now my guages are flickering. So now i just ordered at brand spanking new 220a alt. That best fix my problems. I'm bout ready to rip my hair out

Hmmm, sounds like you may still have a short somewhere if it isn't charging or providing enough juice for the truck to run.
The battery could have a bad cell also, not allowing it to keep 12v minimum. That would make an increased demand on the alternator too.

the truck is running after i replaced the melted inertia switch, but my alt i just replaced as well is whinning like crazy and the truck has a semi rough idol and the gauges are flickering
