Hey, the serpentine belt in my '02 ranger gets squeaky when the weather is rainy and/or cold. Is this problem caused by the belt and/or pulleys getting wet, or other possible issues? Anyone have a solution?

I have an 03 ranger and when purchased the belt was squeaky, we replaced it, and about 6 months later the squeaking came back i took the belt off the truck and personally spinned each pully to find out its the one on the alternator, since i can not get a pulley for the alternator, i have to get a new one. So i just turn the radio up a little louder when its wet or it does not get the garage spot in the winter nights.

Common problem, it can be solved with an under pulley addition but if you're a novice with mechanics its rough on ya!

might try a gatorback belt... if that dont help ... might try some belt dressing..
