Glad I found you guys. I have a 99 ranger with the flex fuel 3.0. I probably paid to much for it now that I'm finding all the problems with it, but I still like the truck and I want to give it the attention it deserves. I also own a 1971 F100 and until last fall I also had a 1967 F350. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here, and hopfully I'll be able to chim in once in awhile.

Eeek, my dad just bought a '99 3.0 and all that we had to change so far was the rack, what other probs do you have, oh, welcome to the boards!

Don't get too worried. Most of the trouble I'm having is due to neglect. I had to replace frozen parking brake cables, only to find out my rear shoes were half rotted away!! I had to replace every single componant except the backing plate!! Thankfully I did it myself because it cost $210 just in parts.
The heater blower resistor was bad, I replaced that, too. Also, the rear leaf springs have broken leaves. As in, half of some springs are missing! There are a few more odds and ends, but I do realize it is a 10 year old truck.
It is the first used vehicle I've bought since 1987. I was a little new at the game and should have been more thorough when I looked at it.

By the way, after my father-in-law saw my Ranger, he went out and bought a '97 for himself.
