changed the battery and the truck still shuts down, 4.0l 2004 edge dealer diagnosed it said it could be the junction box by the passenger kick panel. any ideas? it stalls out and has to be restarted doesnt make it out of 3rd gear. transponders in the ignition and keys are good per ford.

i have no idea if they did that. what is a gem module? i was told to look up technical service bulletins but i can't understand them. it was mentioned to me to by pass the entire pats system, does anyone know if that is even possible?

I think my pats is messed up too. I don't know if its possible to just get rid of it. I would rather fix it than bypass it.

I thin k it is an easy fix cause my neighbor is a mechanic and when I told him about my problem, he asked if I wanted to sell the truck! And asks me everyday!

    update

two different locksmiths said you can't override it without electrical problems due to the computer in the smart junction box. so i broke down and took it back to ford. on the way there the gas gauge went from full to empty. then stayed on empty. i told all this to the service rep. and he said it most likely is the smart junction box because ford uses a computer to regulate all the accessories. so i think its gonna be a $700 dollar trip to the shop. if it works i will be glad to have my truck back! i could have used it in the hurricane, i had to work! i will keep everyone posted and i will be sure to get as much info on the fix as possible so no one else has to spend the 700 bucks.

Oh and no lube! they look at me like im an idiot cause they say it doesn't happen for them. i made the mechanic drive with me and he says oh ok i can work with this problem. oh and all my door switches are bad they all need to be replaced. but they want 500 to fix them so i told them i'll use a flashlight.
