My son's '98. Looked like crap when I found it under a tree but it shined up pretty good.

FIXED It was the multifunction switch. Changed it this morning and now all is working properly. Thanks for your help.

Upon pressing the button for the hazard lights they didn't work and now the regular turn signals dont work either. I've checked the fuses and even replaced the flasher under the dash but still no turn signals or hazards. All other lights work just fine. Any ideas? '98 Ranger supercab 2wd 4.0...

I would check Autotrader.com for similar trucks within a 50 mile radius. Also if you could scrape the frame rust and paint with POR15, that might help raise the value some, or at least be less discouraging to potential buyers.

No it was the code 27. I replaced the bulb with a LED and now everything works as it should. Very happy with the results.

Thanks for the tip. I had already bought something called 'Color Magic' made by Turtle Wax based on a local recommendation. It's made for black paint and supposed to be a polish. We'll see. If it turns out to be junk I'll definitely try the Mequires.

Here it is: As you can see, the tires need replacement and the black paint is faded, but not worn out. I will buff it out in the coming weeks and clean the stock 15" wheels as best I can. * * * * * *

Just bought a '98 XLT 2wd 4.0 for my son. 90,000+ miles. Automatic transmission. No dents. Overall reasonably good condition. At this time it just has a couple of dash lights going on. Already solved the common 'Door Ajar' gremlin with some WD-40 in the door latch. Anyway I'll just be lurking in...
