I also checked the oil and it looked normal. How milky would it look if there was coolant in it? easily noticeable? I know about the condition but have never seen it.

Ok so my brake lights and running lights work, my brakes stop fine when pedal is lightly depressed however the brake lights won't come on unless I force the pedal almost to the floor. Any ideas before I get pulled over or into an accident?
hmmm same motor but your is 11 years newer...anyone know where the A/C compressor should be located in a 1987 2.3 or if these trucks had power steering? mine has A/C controls and has no power steering
it appears as though something is missing under the hood on the drivers side mounted to the wheel well...there are two plugs just sitting there as well. my guess is its either where the compressor was for the A/C since the truck has A/C but there doesnt appear to be a compressor or power...
I havent seen alignment yet...my 1987 is doing the exact same thing and im 99% positive it needs tires balanced front end alignment possibly brakes. Could be one or all three but when im done it wont do that anymore. Let us know what your issue is/was
