    oil useage

Oil loss A buddy had a similar problem a few years ago. Not burning oil and no leaks in the usual places (gaskets, seals, etc.). Turned out he had a hole in the oil pan. Replaced the oil pan and the thing didn't use a drop.

    DOME LIGHT won't go off

Door clasp switch The WD40 bath seems to have done the trick. I'm keeping the dome light cover off just in case I have to pull the bulbs. I went to the trouble of taking the door panel off anyway just to see what was inside. It wasn't as bad as I thought, remove the window crank and four...

Problem with drive shaft or axle?

Driveshaft sqeak If it is a steady squeal, then I don't think it would be the driveshaft. A dry u-joint often makes a squeak on each revolution of the driveshaft. As speed picks up, the squeaks get closer together and eventually blend into a steady howl.

    Tranny trouble

Tranny noise From experience with a number of vehicles, I would first check for things rubbing that could sound like a tranny problem. The whole drive train can move around quite a bit on the mounts and something touching the chassis can be quite noisy. I traced an annoying squeak once to a...
