I am a little over that 500 miles in MN but I have a 99 that looks like it needs an engine. Everything else works and is in good shape. 3.0L just lost Oil pressure. Still runs but lifters are very noisy. Let me know if you are interested.

OK, thanks, Mine is not leaking but I do belive that I need to change the oil pump. I cralled under and it does not look like I can get it off with the transmition in place. Hoping to find someone on this forum that has done this. Thanks again.

OK, Started it to pull into the garage to take a look and lifters are rattling like crazy. Definetly no oil pressure but motor runs. I am going to take a guess here but if it was the cam syncronizer gone the motor would not run, right? Must be the oil pump. Has any one removed the oil pan on...

I have a 99 Ranger 3.0. Oil gage rapid movement from mid to 0 then to 0 and stayed. It will start so i do not think it is the cam syncronizer, not sure. Tappets are noizy now. ?How to confirm check for oil pressure?

Hooligan, How can I find the New 3.0 Tech threads. I am new to this sight and I went to the Engine 3.0 and found some threads that I want to follow up on but they have been moved to the New 3.0 Tech and I cannot find them? Oley

If the Syncro went bad wouldn't the engine stop? Computer would not know where the cam is. This is the second time this has happened. First time was at 37k and Ford covered an engine replacment becasue my daughtor drove until it locked up. This time my son was driving and he shut it down...

99 ranger, had the interior light stay on when doors were closed. figured out it was the driver door by trying several times. Doused the door latch mechanizm with a LOT of WD-40, and I mean a LOT! while working the door. Light went out and has worked for now for about 6 years with no issue...

Mine did the same thing... Except driving down freeway, Oil gage went up and down rapidly then went to 0, engine valve train started to make noize, pulled over and had it towed. What did you fine out jmico? Oley
