hi there =well a co -worker had an older ford and he had the problem with cam lobes ,, we found out after some research as to why he had this misfire=this occurred in a older v8 -and the car had ''FORD ' on the hood emblem, so must be a ford ??right ??

hi folks ==just a thought from an old guy =years back cam lobes were soft in fords SO I'm wondering if a lobe has wore slightly allowing miss fire at slower rpm and higher speeds the lobe is still able to lift valve high enough to work ok with that extra centrifugal force plus the movement...

my own thinking,and owner of a jeep cj7 years ago -your trying to compare ''all wheel drive to 4 wheel drive'' I do believe without a possi trac differential which drives all axles differently than a regular type differential that will cause the wheel with less traction to spin

ive heard the 1500 rpm but ive found a 4L,std trans will lug a bit in 5th gear at 1500 so IMO id try for 1700 rpm and monitor

its the small hose (vent hose) you fjnd it in the filler cap ,,under gas cap ,it runs down to tank ,off the side of filler tube==i ran a guitar string after splitting the hose where it joins just underneath the truck= it cleaned out the venting system and then i had no problem filling...
