How deep are the scratches? I have heard tales of being able to sand surface scratches out of glass but never done it my self.

If your gonna try wet sanding go get 2000 grit sandpaper and some polishing compound. Start wet sanding keeping the area wet until the main scratch is gone. Don't put alot of pressure. Wipe and see if the main scratch is gone then move to the polishing compound once you have it buffed out clean with some windex and that should get the scratches out. Or I'm sure you could try just the polishing compound and then the windex first to see if it will come out without sanding. The worst the polishing compound will do is make it really shiny.

Yeah just do it like your waxing the Windsheild. Don't use rubbing compound it will cause more scratches.
